  • Our services include 2-hour orientations, one-day workshops, and three-day intensives, and customized training programs for your organization or constituents.

​Two-hour Orientations
Introduction to Teaching Artistry  
In this fun and experiential two-hour orientation, students across the state of North Carolina will learn about the field of Teaching Artistry. They will grasp what teaching artists do and how they do it, explore pathways into the field, and learn about income potentials. 
Suggested for colleges, universities, community colleges, high school arts programs, summer arts programs.
Who benefits? Students in art majors/minors. Students considering a career in the arts and/or education. The schools that take responsibility for nurturing successful, sustainable artists.


Orientation to the Teaching Artist Field for Administrators and Community Organizations
This hands-on active orientation provides administrators in arts, education, and community settings with the opportunity to learn about what teaching artists do and how they can support your organization. 
Suggested for community organizations, government organizations, arts organizations, elder care, school leaders.


One-day Intensive Workshops
Building a Business as a Teaching Artist 
This one-day intensive course will develop your skills in effective communication, building networks, grant writing, documentation, and marketing. 
Suggested for teaching artists at the beginning of their career or at a point where they want to take the next stage in their careers. Open to teaching artists in all disciplines​.

Inclusive Teaching Practices
Are you interested in working with students who have disabilities? This immersive workshop supports teaching artists of all disciplines as they learn best practices in planning and implementing residencies in inclusive and special education settings. 
Suggested for teaching artists at all stages of their careers, educators, arts administrators.

Working with Older Adults
If you are interested in working in communities with adults over 50, this workshop is for you. We will explore challenges, best practices, and how to gain employment in this growing sector.
Suggested for teaching artists and educators looking to work with older adults.


Community Engagement and Cross-Sector Collaboration
Learn best practices in community-based residencies in this exciting project-based workshop. Learn about the successes and challenges that teaching artists face in developing and executing community projects.
Suggested for teaching artists at all stages, community leaders, and arts administrators.

Developing School Performances
Learn how to develop strong school-based performance offerings. Explore project conception, design, launch, and evaluation. Learn about grant opportunities from funders, and begin conceptualizing your own school performance project.
Suggested for performing artists, teaching artists, community leaders, educators, and administrators.

Intensive 3-Day Programs: 
Building a Collaborative K-12 Residency
Teaching artists, classroom teachers, and administrators work together to build a highly-engaging residency that elevates social emotional learning, connects to existing curriculum, and develops skills in the arts. We will explore successful practices in the K-12 classroom, unit planning, classroom management, social and emotional learning, goals, outcomes, and expectations. 
Suggested for teaching artists of all disciplines at all stages of their career, K-12 teachers, administrators.​


Teaching Artist Foundations Program
​An immersive 3-day workshop in the fundamentals and best practices of teaching artistry. Participants will experience activities in a variety of disciplines and approaches (including arts integration and aesthetic education), reflect on their learning, and develop/lead their own sample lessons while receiving generative feedback from their peers. Connections to social and emotional learning, and trauma informed care will be addressed.
Suggested for ​teaching artists of all disciplines in early stages of their practice. Open to teaching artists and arts administrators of all levels.
